Taking over SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, the concert was a vibrant tribute to Southern Black culture, artistic freedom, and Beyoncé’s own roots, featuring special appearances by her daughters, Blue Ivy and Rumi Carter.
The setlist, featuring about 35 songs, showcased the breadth of Beyoncé’s iconic discography—from 2008’s I Am… Sasha Fierce, to 2022’s Renaissance, and the spotlighted 2024 album Cowboy Carter. Throughout the show, massive LED screens displayed powerful visuals, including Beyoncé wearing a “Reclamation of America” sash and scenes depicting American flag-draped coffins alongside the message, “history can’t be erased.”
The show opened with “American Requiem,” accompanied by dramatic pyrotechnics as Beyoncé emerged in a striking white fringed bodysuit. Before performing a heartfelt cover of the Beatles’ “Blackbird,” she paused to express gratitude to her fans:
“Thank you for allowing me to create this album,” she said. “Thank you for giving me the space to push myself creatively. Your support means everything.”
Her daughter Blue Ivy, 13, joined her onstage for “America Has a Problem,” dancing front and center. Later, during “Protector,” Beyoncé brought out her 7-year-old daughter Rumi, adding another touching family moment to the night.
In true Beyoncé fashion, the performance was a high-octane, Texas-sized production. Highlights included a whiskey-serving robot, a dramatic flight through the air on a massive horseshoe, a ride on a mechanical bull while performing “Tyrant,” and a fiery piano set.
The evening ended with powerful performances of “16 Carriages” and “Amen,” bringing the crowd to its feet before Beyoncé took her final bow.
Spotted in the crowd were stars like Tyler Perry, Oprah Winfrey, and Gayle King.
Released in March 2024, Cowboy Carter features collaborations with Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, Dolly Parton, and Willie Nelson. The album shattered Billboard records and earned Beyoncé the Grammy for Album of the Year in January.
Next stop for the tour: Chicago on May 15.
